Adopt a Shelter Cat Month: Help give cats a loving home

National Adopt a Shelter Cat Month in June also coincides with kitten season, which makes it one of the best times to help homeless cats and newborn kittens in our community find a loving home.

The San Antonio Humane Society (SAHS) continues to welcome new feline fur babies in need of forever homes.  We are excited to announce that our Cat Pavilion, also known as our Kitty Cottage, is complete. This exciting project will not only transform the housing of our cats, but it will also enhance our experience when we meet and interact with them. We cannot wait for you all to come visit and see it once we reopen to the general public.

In the meantime, our feline friends are happier and more comfortable now that they have more room to roam, scratch and climb! If you’re thinking of adopting a cat or would like to help our cats and kittens currently in our care, now is the time to take action.

Adopt. From their adorable whiskers to their affectionate personalities, cats can truly be the “purrfect” pet to adopt. Visit SAhumane.org/cats to view our adoptable cats today.

Donate. Another way to help the SAHS is to donate supplies. We are always in need of kitten food, blankets, toys and cat litter. Please visit our Amazon Wish List to view the complete list of our most needed items.

Foster. If you are not able to adopt, you can help by becoming a foster pet parent. Giving kittens the love and nurture when they need it the most is one of the most rewarding experiences. If you are interested in becoming a foster parent, please visit SAhumane.org/foster.
