Pitties at the SAHS Who Deserve a Forever Home

We Pit - ty the fool who misses out on some sweet Pittie goodness!

There's currently an influx of Pitties overtaking the SAHS! Honestly, it's a problem we hate to love.

Who wouldn't want to start their day with this girl?
(Julip, 2-year-old Pit Bull Terrier mix)

Because although our hearts are full with some gentle, active, and jumpy Pittie love,
the situation, unfortunately, means our kennels are full too.

Where the adopters at? (Dakota, 3-year-old Pit Bull Terrier mix)

And that just won't do!
These Pitty Pooches deserve a loving home--the same as any pet in our care! And when it comes to Pit mixes all dogs in general, introductions are key. "Variety" doesn't just sum up their appearance, but their temperament, personality, and activity level too.
One thing is for certain: we can promise there is a Pitty mix out there for you.

We have large, sweet Pitties...

I may not be the biggest, but I am the sweetest. (The-Rock, 4-year-old Pit Bull Terrier mix)

Adoption-Fee Sponsored, Social-Media-Famous Pitties...

Belly rubs today. Belly rubs tomorrow. Belly rubs as far as the eye can see. (Akita, 1-year-old Pit Bull Terrier mix)

Doe-eyed Pitties who have called the SAHS home far longer than they wished...

Three months and counting. (Priscilla, 3-year-old Pit Bull Terrier mix)

Wiggly, playful, and active Pitties who are nothing but a blur on screen...

Train hard, Play harder. (Claudia, 2-year-old Pit Bull Terrier mix)

Pitties who love other dogs just as much as they love people...

Looking for a family, looking for a friend.

(Betty, 11-month-old Pit Bull Terrier mix)

Pitties you just have to meet face to face:

Lacey, 3-years-old                         Maz-Kanata, 2-years-old                         Padme-Amidala, 3-years-old

Daisy-Duck, 3-years-old                         Oyster, 5-years-old                         Ice-Cream, 4-years-old

Maurice, 2-years-old                               Lulu, 1-year-old                         Maple, 1-year-old

As you can see from the faces above, "Pit Bull" is quite the umbrella term. It can encompass American Pit Bull Terriers, Staffordshire Bull Terriers, and a number of other mixes and "mutts."

Although we can only guess, frown, and shake our heads at the reason so many Pitties in our care are being overlooked, it's important to recognize the obvious: each dog is an individual. They each have their own individual wants, needs, behaviors, and mannerisms.
And they each deserve a chance at a good, fulfilling life.
