Freedom was found alone on an empty parking lot just days before we closed our doors temporarily due to COVID-19. She was fragile and scared. When she arrived at the San Antonio Humane Society, her skin was damaged with ticks and fleas covering her entire body. Once under the protective care of our staff, Freedom’s future took a turn for the better.
Freedom received the love and care that she desperately needed. Her skin is healing, and her fur is slowly growing back. She is the sweetest girl and is now coming out of her shell. When she’s tired from a day of walks and playtime, she loves to snuggle in your lap and give you kisses!
Over the last month, we had to make emergency changes to our operations, but our mission did not stop.
It is because of YOUR support that we can help save pets like Freedom and give them a second chance. Never again will she have to worry about being left alone, hungry or hurt.
We are continuing to do our "no contact" adoptions by appointment and we are being more cautious than ever to keep our staff, pets and community safe. During this uncertain time, a new pet can provide a sense of joy that we so desperately need right now.
Our work to help our pets continues, and we still need your help. Please consider donating to our San Antonio Humane Society Emergency Fund today. As always, we thank you for your continued support during this challenging time.
