River and Riley have found a home where they can stay
together fur-ever!
The beautiful 1-year-old Retriever best friends were abandoned tied
to a tree at the San Antonio Humane Society last month. They were both scared
and pregnant. A few days later, they both gave birth to puppies on the same night! We
quickly realized these two dogs had a special bond.
Riley is always protective of River, and they love doing
everything together. They always found comfort in one another and grew more confident
with each passing day. Because of their strong bond, we hoped that River and
Riley would be adopted together. And this week, that wish came true! Not only did
River and Riley find a loving home, but they will also continue to spend the
rest of their lives together.
Their new parents say it was love at first sight when they
saw them available for adoption. When they heard their story,
they didn’t even have to think about it. They knew they wanted to keep them together.
“We’ll make sure they’re happy and well taken care of,”
their new mom said. “We have a big yard, so they’ll have plenty of space to run
and play. We’re really excited to take them home.”
