Happy New Year! It’s that time of year again – resolutions! Have you thought about yours? If not, don’t worry. Here are five ideas from the San Antonio Humane Society (SAHS) to help you start 2021 on the right paw!
Find your new work out PAWtner. Many of you want to kick-start the New Year with new fitness goals and what better way than to achieve them with a new furry friend. You can adopt a dog from the SAHS and begin your fitness journey together with plenty of walks, hikes and adventures.
Work hard, play harder. I think we can all agree that after 2020, we all want to have more fun. We believe adopting a new cat buddy can bring you lots of joy and fun. You’ll never be bored again, and you’ll gain a new furry friend for life. Plus, it’s been proven that playing with cats can help you reduce stress and anxiety!
Be proactive about your pet’s health. The SAHS is currently offering curbside Wellness Clinics at both of our locations, SAHS on Fredericksburg Rd. and the Brooks Spay/Neuter Clinic on City Base Landing. They are a great opportunity to take advantage of low-cost wellness and preventative services to help your pet continue to live a healthy lifestyle. You can get your dogs and cats microchipped, vaccinated, purchase flea, tick and heartworm prevention, and more!
Spay or neuter your pet to reduce pet overpopulation. This surgery not only helps decrease the overwhelming number of unwanted pets in our city, but it also helps improves your pet’s chances for a longer, healthier life. Spay/neuter services at the SAHS are available to the public by appointment only. Click here to learn more.
Declutter and donate to the SAHS. The New Year is a great opportunity to declutter your home and maybe some unwanted items can help our shelter pets. We accept blankets, pet toys, towels, newspaper, paper towel rolls and more! All items can be placed in the blue bin located outside of our main shelter doors (4804 Fredericksburg Rd.) from 12-6 p.m. every day. There are also many other ways you can help donate to our pets in need. Click here to learn more.
Happy 2021!!
