Lady-Bug is an adorable 3-pound, 5-year-old Chihuahua, who arrived at the San Antonio Humane Society (SAHS) after she was found as a stray on June 18. Her spunky personality immediately won our hearts over at the shelter.
During her dental exam, SAHS veterinarians noticed she had a
broken lower jaw (mandible) held together only by a large, diseased tooth and
would require specialized care.
Fortunately, our partners at Texas Specialty Veterinary Services were able to help and performed a surgery to insert a plate and stabilize her jaw fracture on July 2.
Despite her
pain, Lady-Bug was a sweet and affectionate girl. The very next day, she was
already feeling better and began playing with her kitten friend, Twitch, at the
shelter.
Your gift makes this
life-saving work possible.
Today, Lady-Bug is receiving all the love and attention she
deserves from a wonderful SAHS foster family while she continues to recover from
surgery at home. Soon, she will be ready to find her FURever home!
The SAHS medical team provides care for thousands of animals
each year like Lady-Bug. Please consider donating to our SAHS Emergency Fund
today! As always, we thank you! Your support is making a difference in so many
lives.
