This is what we love to see ❤︎ Cathy has found her forever home!
Cathy, a sweet 4-month-old kitten, was surrendered to the
San Antonio Humane Society a month ago in bad shape. She was scared and missing
her right eye. Once under our protective care, Cathy’s future took a turn for
the better.
The tiny kitten received surgery to treat her eye area and
prevent future infections. She quickly stole our hearts at the shelter and got
the nickname “pirate kitty.”
When Melinda Aguilar, a special education teacher, saw her
available for adoption, she knew she wanted to give her a loving home.
“I have a soft spot for special needs individuals – animals
included,” she said. “It’s always been in my to-do list to help out special
needs animals, and I needed another girl in the house. I have all boys, so when
I saw her, I knew I wanted her.”
Aguilar picked Cathy up on Aug. 11, and she couldn't have been more
excited.
“I’m so happy to be her mom and give her lots of love,”
she added. “I can’t wait to also show my students, and let them see atypical
bodies, and let them know that it’s okay.”
Cathy loves her new home and nothing makes her happier than playing
and snuggling with her new brothers: two dogs, a cat and a lizard!
